Environement Awareness

Rural areas are among the first to suffer from the impacts of climate change: that may include a lack of rainfall for crops, droughts, and the emergence of new diseases. Additionally, India is one of the countries least sensitized to climate change and its causes.

The AIRD plans to raise awareness about the environmental crisis by educating communities on sustainable practices, promoting recycling, and encouraging healthy habits. A common initiative is the Cleaning & Waste Day where the AIRD along with the Village Development Committees (VDC), work together to clean villages, remove waste, and educate residents on environmental good practices. To improve village sanitation, we are sometimes organizing distribution of dustbins, and plastic collection to enhance waste management.

Community members, VDC members, and school students participate in activities like tree planting. In an effort to reduce CO2 emissions and promote renewable energy, in the second half of 2020, one of our main plans was working towards creating "zero-darkness" villages by installing solar streetlights in 9 of our villages, providing around 1,000 households with access to sustainable lighting.

Tree Plantation

One of our key initiatives in environmental protection is our Tree Plantation. Trees play a critical role in maintaining ecological balance, reducing carbon footprints, and combating climate change. Through our campaigns, we plant thousands of trees in deforested areas, along roadsides, and in community spaces. These trees not only help improve air quality but also provide shade, reduce soil erosion, and create habitats for wildlife. Our tree-planting efforts are a long-term investment in the health of the planet and the well-being of future generations.

Dustbins distribution

As part of our environmental protection efforts, AIRD distributes dustbins to local communities to promote proper waste management and reduce pollution. By providing these essential tools, we help create cleaner, healthier environments while encouraging residents to take an active role in keeping their surroundings litter-free. This initiative not only improves sanitation but also raises awareness about the importance of reducing waste and adopting sustainable habits.
